Ok, so today was the first day of the second half of the quarter, which means that the professors switched, so we had Joe in for 661 and some new guy for 701. Well, joe is cool, presents a lot of material, but its all cool and Joe was out of it b/c he's sick and was doped up on Dayquil (or so he says). As for 701... we had had Dr. Bissaro, who looks like and acted about as intelligent as David Spade, so us first years all pretty much made fun of him b/c the material was easy as shit.. Well, the new guy kinda looks like Mr. Bean, but god damn is he a bad lecturer... all he did today was go over what he's going to talk about, which I can somewhat understand, but he didn't present any actual information!!! All he did was basically recap the last 50 years in genomics research and said that there is mroe to be done... I mean, omg... the lecture was total absolute crap. If this is what its going to be like from now till the end of term, I think I'm gonna have to bring a pillow along with me so I can at least sleep.
Beyond classes, TAing still sucks, but at least the kiddies are failing because they're fucking up their quizzes and not the labs... which means it def. isn't my fault... Rotations start on Monday (well, Tues. for me) so that is going to be interesting... I'm going through Olli's lab so I'll be working w/ James on his atrazine stuff, and then w/ some other guy on the microbial fuel cell stuff. The microbial fuel cell stuff is really kick ass. From what Olli's told me, they have them at a point where they can run a DVD player and TV off thier cells. Just imagine the potential uses of these thigns... how kick ass is that??
Anyways, beyond that things are pretty good... having fun w/ some of the other grads, meeting people, all seems ok for now... so yay..

So long David Spade, I'm sad to say that I think we'll miss you...
